The café, which meets alternate Saturday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm, welcomes anyone living with memory problems and their carers.
Launceston Memory Café, the first in Cornwall, opened in October 2007 and was set up to provide a regular amenity for people who were experiencing memory problems. Equally important, it gave carers the opportunity to meet other carers who were encountering similar challenges.
The Café is run on a very friendly and informal basis by trained and experienced volunteers. There is a very warm welcome for visitors to come in and relax for a couple of hours in a supportive environment and to enjoy a regular break from the otherwise everyday routine.

The optional activities are varied and can often trigger trips down memory lane so these include music and dancing, board games, skittles, seated exercise and general reminiscing through conversation about things from the past.
Seasonal activities are also enjoyed and include trips out for cream teas and to places of interest as well as celebrating Christmas and our anniversary with parties
